The North Dakota Museum of Art and the University of North Dakota's Art and Design Department are teaming up to offer you eight metalsmithing workshops. These workshops are for adults ages 18 and older. Each workshop focuses on making a specific piece while teaching you new skills unique to that piece. There is no experience necessary, all materials are provided, you take home what you make.


These workshops take place in the metalsmithing classroom
in the Hughes Fine Arts Center on the campus of UND and are taught by Malissa Kuznicki
Malissa has 15 years of experience in the commercial jewelry industry.  Her work has been exhibited internationally
and has been on the cover of Metalsmith magazine.  She received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo
and a Master’s degree from Bowling Green State University.  Malissa currently teaches
jewelry and metalsmithingat the University of North Dakota.

Workshop 1

Ring in the New Year -
Hammered Rings

Thursday, January 23

Spend the eening learning the basics of ring making and soldering. You will learn basic sawing, texturing, and soldering to fabricate your own rings from wire and sheet metal. You will make a base metal practice ring and a sterling silver ring. If you want to keep practicing, be sure to sign up for the Saturday open studio and continue the fun.

Stamped Cuff Bracelets
