The concept: fifty artists, one from each state, made fifty prints and sent them to Texas Tech University. The prints were assembled into fifty portfolios of fifty prints each, comprised of one print from each artist. This would be the Colorprint U.S.A. exchange portfolio. Texas Tech University shipped the assembled portfolios back to the artists in their home states, where each artist arranged to open an exhibition of the prints on the same weekend in November 1998. Fifty shows of the same prints opened simultaneously in all fifty states.
