Erik Koskinen
Opening: December’s Children

Since moving to Minneapolis eight years ago, Erik Koskinen has amassed a following as a musician, songwriter, producer and engineer. With experience stemming from years of traveling, Koskinen taps those adventures and encounters in his second album American Theatre, the follow-up to the acclaimed Keep It to Yourself. America Theatre is a translucent eulogy to the genuine. Musically sprouted from the blend of American folk, country, rock-n-roll, and blues, Koskinen and his top-shelf band realize a sound that is distinctive and fresh while familiar and classic.

William Elliott Whitmore
Opening: Ryan Avdem

Energized by this diversifying, and also given the space to pair a patient sense of craft with the usual punk rock spirit to which Whitmore has always paid homage, the songs on his new album, Radium Death (out now on ANTI- Records), hum with an exigent electricity—whether amplified or not. They also present a cohesive look into those recurring Whitmore themes of respect, protection, sustenance and survival.

Lydia Loveless
Opening: Mandalynne
Sponsors: Bryan Hoime and Greg Martin

Two years after the critical success of her breakout second album, Indestructible Machine, Lydia Loveless emerges from the trenches of hometown Columbus, OH with the gloves off and brimming with confidence on Somewhere Else. While her previous album was described as “hillbilly punk with a honky-tonk heart” (Uncut), this one can’t be so quickly shoehorned into neat categorical cubbyholes. No, things are different this time around—Loveless and her band have collectively dismissed the genre blinders and sonic boundaries that come from playing it from a safe, familiar place.

Joshua James
Opening: Kayte Bradshaw
Sponsors: Bryan Hoime and Greg Martin

Raised in hard-bitten Nebraska, Joshua James’ work reflects a distinctly American ache, a yearning for a big sky and an open road. Beckoned westward out of his heartland home by the voices of Jim Morrison and Isaac Brock, he made it as far as the mountains of Utah, where like the settlers before him, he was stopped in his tracks by the arresting beauty. Strangely familiar, yet refreshingly innovative, James’ songs are devastating in their honesty, working with themes that are intermittently elating, melancholic, and transcendent. He doesn’t so much perform these songs, as he does let them possess him, allowing his voice to be throttled from a husky whisper to a full-bodied roar.

Fred Eaglesmith
Opening: Tif Ginn
Sponsors: Darrell and Kate Larson
                   Jamie Selzler
                   Steven B. Swanson

Award-winning singer-songwriter Fred Eaglesmith fuses rock 'n' roll edge and stand-up comic wit into performances he likes to characterize as "Johnny Carson meets the Rolling Stones." Eaglesmith has always been an independent explorer, seeking new ways to challenge himself and engage fans, musically and otherwise. Trundling his band from stage to stage in a vegetable-oil-powered converted school bus, he recently broke new ground with his "Legions of Legions" tour of Canadian legion halls.

Tennessee Jet
Opening: Josh Driscoll

Tennessee Jet is a one-man Americana-rock band from Nashville influenced by the hard-core honky-tonk of Dwight Yoakam, the writings of John Steinbeck, and the raw minimalism of The White Stripes. Tennessee Jet has had songs used in major network television shows and film, released 5 digital singles, a 7” vinyl single, and just recently released a self-titled full-length album. The album was recorded, mixed and produced by TJ and it’s a diverse offering; driving fuzzed-out punk romps, folk-country singer/songwriter ballads, call-and-return chain-gang tunes and stomp ’n holler blues. To replicate the wide ranges of sound live it’s not uncommon for Tennessee Jet to play as many as 7 instruments at a time...
